When I write this paper, I want to learn more about myself. I want to learn more about why i want to be an English major, and maybe if i chose the right path with English Ed. i never thought that i was a good writer, but hopefully i can improve those skills. I really dont know what i am supposed to write here. Gabe said to talk about things in our life that are important, but not all about the person writing it. I hope this is what he was looking for. 

SORROWS

Going to school everyday, fighting with my parents, getting broken up with, going to cheerleading practice, not thinking I was good enough, not making the cut, feeling alone in this crazy world, pressure put on me causing me to break, my step grandpa dying, giving my dog away, my cousin leaving for iraq. I didnt make cheerleading sophomore basketball season, but it made me stronger and realized that i was glad that i didn't because now i would have time for other things and that i wouldnt have to revolve my life around cheer.

English was an upstart, amateurish affair as academic subjects went, hardly able to compete on equal terms with the rigors of Greats or philology; since every English gentleman read his own literature in his spare time anyway, what was the point of submitting it to systematic study ?
